SELEUKID KINGS. Antiochos VIII Epiphanes (Grypos), 121/0-97/6 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 13.74 g, 1 h), Ptolemaic standard, Askalon, SE 198 = 115/4. Diademed and draped bust of Antiochos VIII to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟY Eagle, wings closed, standing left; behind, palm frond; in field to left, AΣ above dove standing left above monogram; to right, HꟼΡ. HGC 9, 1203. SC 2339.6b var. (secondary control between eagle's legs). Very rare. Slightly porous and with a small scratch on cheek, otherwise, very fine.
